Sachtler Flowtech 75 MS 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod

Like most people in the video & photography world, the next gear purchase is always on our mind. Camera equipment is one of the biggest expenses in this business and knowing the right gear to invest in can be a little daunting. One of the best purchases that we've made this year is, without a doubt, our Sachtler Flowtech 75 MS Tripod. This carbon fiber beauty is a timesaver, lifesaver and back-saver, all rolled into one stylish package. Seriously, we are just a little obsessed!

One of the biggest complaints that we've had with other tripods is how awkward it can be making adjustments on the fly. That's not an issue for the Flowtech. The quick release adjustment brakes are one of the most functional features of this tripod. No more fumbling to adjust each leg, loosening or tightening one segment at a time. With a simple flip of the red quick release brakes at the top of each leg, you can raise or lower the tripod in an instant, adjusting one leg at a time or all three at once.

The tripod is made of lightweight carbon fiber with an ergonomic design, making it really comfortable to throw over your shoulder. Each leg has it’s own hinge lock mechanism, letting you easily adjust one leg at a time. The individual leg adjustments are great for added stability when shooting on uneven ground. The rubber feet are easy to remove if you want to utilize the spiked feet underneath (great if you’re shooting outdoors, in gravel or dirt and need some extra stability). Unlike most removable tripod feet, which are typically made of all rubber, these are more of a durable hard plastic, making them less likely to stretch or wear out over time.

Sachtler offers a few different fluid head options to add on to the legs. We went with the Ace XL Fluid Head option for a couple main reasons. The Ace XL was the cheaper option compared to the other fluid heads that Sachtler offered. The Ace was also more appealing considering the fact that it is compatible with Manfrotto 501 Quick Release Plates, which we were already using.

All things considered, this has been a really great purchase and makes adjustments with ease. No regrets here!
